Christmas is Coming Soon!

What a blessing this past year has been!  And now Christmas is a few days away and I look forward to seeing family and friends.  We rejoice that not only did Jesus come as a baby but that he rose from the grave and will soon come again!!

I am trying to recover from a cough that likes to hang on! and also facing all the business and tax things that must be addressed before the end of the year.  Every year seems to go faster doesn't it?  Someone told me that the older you get the faster it goes:)  I am very thankful for every day of life I have no matter how fast it goes!

Here are some pictures from the last few months that I am enjoying:

And finally a Merry Christmas photo that I hope will bring you a warm and happy thought!

It's September!

Hello.  Yes, August is past and September almost half gone.  It was a busy summer with the cherries and a wedding.  There was a big crop of cherries this year which was good for quantity but not so good for prices.  Thankfully we had a friend who was able to work for a week during tart cherry harvest!  It was a busy time but my husband kept everything going and as always did an excellent job!

The wedding was beautiful and without the help of wonderful friends we couldn't have done it! Thank you to all involved!!!  Words just aren't enough.  I hope to get some pictures from my daughter to post here.

Now I'm busy with farm business records, a bit of sewing, and reading when I can.  May your day be filled with big and little things that bring you joy:)

Cherry Harvest

Although it has been a couple of months since the trees were in bloom they are so pretty even in a picture. Harvest will begin next week and it looks to be a very large crop.  We just need big prices to go with it!

Our farm/orchard is experiencing lots of changes as we get ready for the August wedding.  Mainly planting grass and watering lots!  Also I planted quite a few flowers from seeds which I hope will be blooming at the right time.

Our bathroom remodel is pretty well done and the roof project is still supposed to be happening this month. Several of these projects have been hoped for long before the wedding date was set but it is nice that they are happening this summer:)

I have found several new blogs that I like:  emilyaclark, jonesdesignco, citystitch, and thehandmadehome.

I am thinking of changes for my blog and my products (things I make! and that I hope to sell:): a different name, a logo, a plan to make things!  Also I need to find ways to get fewer emails.

As always I am hopeful to add some pictures and keep posting!  Enjoy each and every moment!!

An Extra Day! Time to Catch Up!!

Well how time flies!  As I look at my title I'm thinking maybe I should say I'm only catching up to where I think I should be which is always further away than where I am!!  So on this leap year day (and every day) I will be happy with accomplishing something every day, look forward to learning new things every day, always be grateful for the many blessings around me each day, and most importantly be the person Jesus is leading me to be!!

I am currently in a beginning quilt class which does a different block every week.  I'm using fabric I have on hand except for a few colors I might add.  I decided to use a white background instead of the more usual black after getting some ideas from a magazine. Here are the ones I have done so far:

As you can see I am still trying to master the precise matching of points!  I'm looking forward to getting better with practice:)

My list of goals are still good but I have decided to really focus on exercise for March.  And hopefully continue working on the others as well.

Wow!! It's 2•0•1•6 !!!

Happy New Year!  What a blessing to begin a new year!  May God draw closer to me and you and each member of our families and friends!  And may we all want more than ever His soon return!

It is snowing:) here in Michigan.  Winter has finally arrived.  I'll be trying to get the right exposure on some snow pictures and hoping we'll get some sunshine tomorrow.  Quite a gray week.  Maybe this will be the year I actually keep track of sunny/gray days.

So my plans for the new year and this blog are...

      •  Try and post at least two times a week
      •  Share something inspirational
      •  Do something with knitting/sewing/paper and share what I have learned
      •  Take more pictures:)
      •  Exercise everyday and focus more on healthy habits

And if I can follow this plan maybe I will try and share this blog more with others and not just see it as something for me.  Maybe having more than two people read it?:)

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!  God bless.  And smile!

PS: I must add to my plans:  Improve my computer skills!
