After a cool spring and some late frosts warmer temps are starting to arrive. It is still a bit rainy but it is time to plant flowers! On my walk/run the other evening there were some beautiful lilacs and the smell was so sweet. Here are a few flower pictures:

Quilt Blocks
Hello. A beautiful spring day in Michigan! Today I am working on quilt projects. The quilt blocks are ready to be joined together for a small quilt or wall hanging. Although I had always intended to make an Amish quilt with a black background (some of my fabrics are over 25 years old:) a picture of a quilt with bright color crosses and white background changed my mind. So I finally have 9 blocks made and will put them together soon. So the lesson learned is don't give up on a project but also don't be afraid to make some changes! Hopefully it won't take twenty years to finish! May you have time to finish your projects:) Here are some of the blocks:

White Flowers
I was recently given some beautiful flowers that were predominantly white or cream and I have discovered I love that combination. Some eucalyptus would have been an interesting addition I believe. So hopefully my flower plantings this spring will have lots of different whites:) Here is a

Welcome 2017!!!
Hello. I really can't believe it is 2017. But all my calendars say it is so guess I better jump on the 2017 train (no plane for me haha). Here are some things I'm doing: I am using the Simplified Planner this year. So far I like writing things down and even bought some fun stickers to use. It is interesting when you find one thing (book: Grace Not Perfection) and it leads to another thing (planner: Simplified Planner) and then you see another blog (Lara Casey) and another book..... and on goes the list of new things that may influence your new year. I used a Read Through the Bible Plan from You Version last year which I really liked and would recommend but for this year I have decided to choose smaller plans and focus on the gospels for a few months. My daughter gave me some help with weight lifting ideas so I'm trying to incorporate them every day. Flowers, knitting, paper projects, exercise and organization are all being thought about! Which means lots of new ideas and things to do/try for 2017! I'm very grateful for so many blessing throughout 2016 and so many things to look forward to in 2017. One suggestion I found in my reading is having a word for the year. I have chosen Trust. I truly want to trust God and follow His will not mine!
Now we are enjoying the snow and cold of Northern Michigan and today was cold! Here are a few pictures:

Christmas is Coming Soon!
What a blessing this past year has been! And now Christmas is a few days away and I look forward to seeing family and friends. We rejoice that not only did Jesus come as a baby but that he rose from the grave and will soon come again!!
I am trying to recover from a cough that likes to hang on! and also facing all the business and tax things that must be addressed before the end of the year. Every year seems to go faster doesn't it? Someone told me that the older you get the faster it goes:) I am very thankful for every day of life I have no matter how fast it goes!

It's September!
Hello. Yes, August is past and September almost half gone. It was a busy summer with the cherries and a wedding. There was a big crop of cherries this year which was good for quantity but not so good for prices. Thankfully we had a friend who was able to work for a week during tart cherry harvest! It was a busy time but my husband kept everything going and as always did an excellent job!
The wedding was beautiful and without the help of wonderful friends we couldn't have done it! Thank you to all involved!!! Words just aren't enough. I hope to get some pictures from my daughter to post here.
Now I'm busy with farm business records, a bit of sewing, and reading when I can. May your day be filled with big and little things that bring you joy:)
