A Busy Summer

We are nearing the end of the cherry harvest.  Just the balatons on Tuesday and maybe part of Wednesday.  So far lots of good quality cherries however the prices are quite low.  Most of our cherries went for juice.  Try CheriBundi when you see it:)  Here are some pictures from the summer thus far:

New Things on the Farm

As we are in process of moving to the farm full time I am learning that I have more things than I thought and that even though I am giving away things to prepare for living in a small space there is always more stuff you really can live without.  So now I really need to reduce the stuff I have packed by half!  Never a dull moment when you move!!

A new approach I have for my "blog" is to post a picture every day relating to what I am doing on the farm.  Hopefully I will get a working computer moved there soon so I can post daily.  As I am at the other house right now I will post five pictures from last week:

Trilliums in the woods.

Tart cherries in bloom.

Close up of cherry blossom.

Repair on a water line.

Getting the landscape fabric for planting.

Planting flower pots.

White lilacs.

A busy week with lots of beautiful flowers and progress on a number of projects.  Have a great week!

A New Year

Hello.  A new year with new ideas and new goals!  My first and most important goal is to live each day for Jesus.  This means giving my plans to Him so my work will be what He wants me to do.  So I hope each day will be a blessing to others.  The New Testament is where I'm reading for daily devotions.  I have lots of journals which I plan to use for copying verses or recording thoughts.  And a day is never complete without prayer:)

Regarding my sewing/knitting goals I am two blocks away from having enough blocks to make a small quilt.  Yea!!  I have not decided how I will quilt it.  Maybe I will investigate how much it would cost for having it done!  I also have a knitting project that I started last year and hope to finish this year.  I'm still enjoying making photo cards or using the Silhouette Portrait for some great paper cards. I'm thankful to have a printer that uses generic ink so I can print lots!

Here is the latest quilt block (12 inch):

One new thing I want to do on my blog is write briefly about online stores or blogs that interest me. Perhaps they might interest you too.  A favorite online store I really like is PurlSoHo https://www.purlsoho.com.  They have lovely yarn, lots of free patterns, and just interesting things for sale.  It is a good place to get some ideas for a project

May 2018 be a year with many opportunities and may we all keep focused on what is important! Have a good day with at least a bit of sewing or knitting!

Almost December

Hello to all my readers!!  HaHa.  I haven't written for months so even if I had more than one reader they would have given up by now!

It is a beautiful fall here in Michigan.  We spent Thanksgiving in ND and it was 60 degrees there!  I am sure the beautiful snow will be coming soon.  Looking forward to celebrating the Christmas season.  Praying that we may put our focus on Jesus and draw closer to him.

A few pictures from a day in Chicago:

Have a wonderful day:)

Thankful!

Today I am very thankful for lots of things but especially for the blessing of life!  I have so many things to be thankful for each day.  It is easy to take the everyday things for granted.  I have never done a gratitude journal but there is no time like the present!  Maybe my many (haha) readers will want to join me:)  Enjoy these pictures:

Have a happy day!!!

Sunny Days

A beautiful sunny day!  Harvest is almost over:)  I have some beautiful flowers blooming and am still trying to stay ahead of the weeds.  I also have plans to try and reduce the amount of things we have.  So hopefully it's full steam ahead on getting that job done after our last day of harvest! Here are a few pictures from this summer:

Maybe some cherry pictures next time:)

Rainy Days

Wow!  The last week of June already!  We have been busy keeping up with the cherries and weeding my flower plantings.  There was a beautiful rainbow the other evening which was appropriate with all the rain we have been getting:)  Here are a few pictures:

The last one was a panoramic from my phone.   Have a beautiful day! :)
